We're looking for a software engineer who is obsessed with AI to help us push the boundaries of autonomous customer support. You'll work directly on the core reasoning engine that powers Squid Support — designing agents, building toolchains, and shipping features that handle tens of thousands of real customer conversations every day.
What you'll do
- →Design, build, and iterate on LLM-powered agents and workflows (function calling, RAG, multi-step reasoning).
- →Integrate third-party e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.) via APIs and webhooks.
- →Own the full lifecycle of features — from architecture to production monitoring.
- →Collaborate with the product team to translate merchant pain points into elegant AI solutions.
- →Write clean, well-tested TypeScript/Python code and hold the bar for engineering quality.
What we're looking for
- ✓3+ years of software engineering experience in production environments.
- ✓Hands-on experience building with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) — agents, tool use, prompt engineering.
- ✓Strong fundamentals in TypeScript or Python (we use both).
- ✓Comfortable with cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP / Vercel) and CI/CD pipelines.
- ✓Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
Nice to have
- ◦Experience with e-commerce platforms or helpdesk tooling.
- ◦Background in NLP, information retrieval, or ML.
- ◦Familiarity with Next.js or similar full-stack frameworks.
